In the 2021 Texas Legislative Session, homeowners were helped immensely by the Texas Realtors. In particular, they promoted SB 1588, which adds important protection on subjects ranging from religious freedom, to improved hearing procedures, and a small amount of statewide data gathering. The Realtors showed good understanding of issues that homeowners face, and a willingness to expend political capital to get things done. They also bought in the Texas Builders, which is a breakthrough. Perhaps the Builders are seeing how their own ability to sell houses is hurt by bad associations that hurt homeowners.
