Fight for Homeowners
Many homeowner associations just don’t get it. Whatever they call themselves — HOAs, POAs, CIDs – all subdivisions, townhomes, and condominiums should exist to serve homeowners. But, too often, the boards, managers, and their attorneys act as if homeowners exist to serve associations. And, too often, associations abuse bad laws to sue homeowners. In the past, boards, managers, and their attorneys have persuaded legislators (not just in Texas, but across the country) to enact statutes that give associations too much power, and homeowners too few rights.
Many of us want to change that. We try to persuade legislators to adopt better statutes. We try to persuade subdivisions, townhomes, and condominiums to respect homeowners. This website exists to help Texans who want to secure the liberty and peace in our homes that our families deserve.
I am licensed as a lawyer in Texas. On this web site, I offer my understanding of new and existing laws, respond to some FAQs, and encourage people to organize for better laws. Your active involvement is welcomed.
